THE FUTURE OF ADVENTURES

My fellow Stibbonites,

Following the publication of “Menace of the Doomsday Orgy”, the third and final instalment in the “Adventures of Alexa” trilogy, many of you (including voices in my head) have asked me – “And what now?”

Well, there won’t be any more books coming, at least not in the foreseeable future. Unless, of course, senility kicks in early. I do, however, have a couple more additions to the franchise in me. And I mean exactly two.

For the sake of needless drama, I will not reveal at present what these are. Suffice to say they will not be sequels. But, rest assured, they are guaranteed to blow the jerksock off your dick. 

Back in 2016, when I first started writing the “Adventures of Alexa” series I thought it would be a fun little side project and that I would write dozens upon dozens of short stories. But that’s really not my jam, as it turns out. It seems that I’m a pathological sucker for long format novels; and these fuckers take a lot out of you.

I have enjoyed the journey immensely, but I’m not willing to commit to it for life. What I’m saying is it’s not you. It’s me.

For me, being a writer, doesn’t scratch the itch of “communicating ideas with my readers” nor is it about “sharing”. Writing is a very troublesome and slow way of getting the satisfaction of a job well-done. And that’s what I’m getting out of all this: my dopamine fix of having created something and shaped it into the finest form I could muster.

Now I’m perfectly content to let it lie, surrendering it to the world and to its quiet little corner of posterity. That’s my happily ever after.

ADVENTURES OF ALEXA: THE COMPLETE TRILOGY (LINKS)

With the “Adventures of Alexa” trilogy now complete, I thought it would come in handy to have a permanent post here with all the links where you can find the books in paperback and e-format.

For those of you in the US, the Lulu Bookstore would be the best option; whilst for my EU perverts, BookMundo works best.

In the meantime, I’ll be on the lookout for other platforms as well where I can evangelize the cause of underground fantasy porn…

Of course, you may ask, why publish on such obscure and shitty platforms? Well, the answer is simple. Because I have no other choice.

Censorship is rampant on major platforms like Amazon. In theory, they do accept erotica of all kinds; but always within certain limits that do not offend housewives in Ohio. My works, being so choke-full of taboo themes (from incest, to grossly offensive language, descriptions of semi or outright non-consensual sexual acts and a dark sense of tongue-in-cheek humour that is aggressively irreverent) are violating every guideline possible. Plus, they don't romanticize shit. 

Don’t get me wrong. Every business, large or small, does have the right to set its own rules and apply them. I am not complaining about that.

Yet, seeing that large corporations with international online platforms, like Amazon, pretty much run the entire show when it comes to any genre of books, being banned (or even shadowbanned) on their platforms equals utter oblivion in very practical terms.

No one is going to read you if they can’t find you through a sponsored ad on a very popular platform. People don’t “discover” books. They just read what the algorithm tells them is worth reading. And those who control the algorithm control what, in essence, exists in the mind of the audience and what does not. It's basically a good old fashioned book burning, only less dramatic and with a much more democratic packaging. 

So, every author has to make a choice: either self-censor in order to comply with the guidelines of the major platforms and be able to have a shot at promoting their works there, or go wild and face the consequences of algorithmic obscurity.  

Personally, I choose the later. Not because I’m cooler than you or have some sort of artistic integrity you should applaud me for; but because I fucking hate the idea of self-censoring just because some douchebag corporate bro was raised puritan. I already do an awful lot of self-censoring in my daily life, just like everyone living in a civilised society, and I downright refuse to do it when I’m writing porn.

If anything, writing in a transgressive genre is supposed to be wild and liberating and always pushing boundaries. If we confine it within the marketable margins of a mass-pleasing product, then we simply lose the magic of it all. And we might as well let corporate AI spell out our fantasies. Which is just sad.
